I don't see a signature win for him either, and agree about him being overrated. Sure he has a large fanbase, but that isn't enough to earn a Floyd fight, for example. I can't wait til he gets exposed. He has power and is a good boxer puncher but not a great one. He's similar to Danny Garcia in that he wins, but he isn't impressive, at all, and does nothing exceptionally well.

The media wants to force him down our throats and that never sits well with me either. True stars naturally become draws, like DLH, no overhyping and shoving down throats like Canelo needs.

              his biggest win is lara.

his superstardom isn't the kind that comes from one particular win. he's a red headed mexican with a chin that looks like it belongs on a cartoon superhero. he's got "It."

you don't teach it. you've either got it or you don't. canelo is a compelling character. his charisma literally translates through a foreign language.

if he had beaten mayweather his starpower would have obviously skyrocketed, but neither floyd nor canelo have hte kind of superstardom that comes from wins alone.

mayweather is a villian. canelo is a rockstar. pacquiao is a scrapper. mike tyson was a thug and a primal force. dempsey was what a white american man was supposed to want to be. joe frazier was a hard working and humble man. ali was a talented and confident athlete.

these are compelling characters that extend far beyond boxing. people identify with or seek out these characters because of the influence of these characteristics or traits in their own lives.

there are members of the forum who seem to think that erislandy lara would beat floyd mayweather and gennady golovkin.

canelo's win over lara is his best. it's not looked at as a "signature" win because of lara's awkward style, how close the fight was, and lara's complete lack of recognition.

No win but he is an improving talented fighter and unlike Chavez Jr, he takes nothing for granted. He's also winning the big fights too.

                    their isn't a particular win

He has "it".....if he would've looked like Chocolatito Gonzalez or your average everyday Mexican, he'd be just another good Mexican fighter, their are so many

Since he suffers From BlakeGriffinoligo....he is a star
