Trinidad by KO. Both of them are all time greats. When both fighters are great the bigger fighter wins. Whitaker beat Chavez although it was called a draw. Whitaker was too big for Chavez. Trinidad easily beat a past prime Whitaker. Chavez won his first title at 130 and ended up a champion at 140. Trinidad won his first title at 147 at age 20. His best weight was 154 but he won a title at 160. Pound for pound they are equally good but Trinidad was much too big for Chavez so it's not a fair fight.

Chavez was not very good at welterweight. Being stopped by De La Hoya and outpointed* by Whitaker in his two title fights at that weight.

          *Forget what the judges said.
