all i know is this.. Berto will be way more competitive than Pac-Roid.. the guy that came in advertised as the "buzz saw" with the crazy angles and instead chose to box like an idiot. .Berto will bring the fireworks. .no need to "sell" it, this is the best fighter of our generation performing for maybe one last time, that's enough for me to tune in. Haters will hate but thats just what haters do.

9/12, thanks to Mayweather and partners
-PBC on NBC, to open up the afternoon
-Ishe Smith vs Vanes Matirosian (Showtime), pre Mayweather-Berto PPV.
-Gonzalez vs Oquendo (Mexico-Puerto Rico)
-Martinez vs Salido II (Mexico-Puert Rico, in addition to possible-FOTY rematch)
-Badou Jack vs George Groves (168 title fight, 50/50 bout)
-Mayweather vs Berto
For the price of $75, fight fans watching the fight in the US will have the opportunity to catch a full day of fights, all in HD, and see Floyd's final bout, if they prefer to be anti-social.
I'm not buying the PPV, but I'm catching the afternoon fight card at my house, before heading over to a fight party to catch the five bouts to close out the night (24-pack of Heineken and a couple pizzas, as my contribution to the party, will likely set me back $30-$40).
Expect Floyd to win, in a far better fight since folks here expect (I don't think Berto turtles up to simply make it to the distance, making this fight more Mayweather-Cotto or Mayweather-Maidana than Mayweather-Guerrero), but people here trashing the fight will be tuning in anyway.

I've been advocating this for weeks as well and even went as high as saying that I'm going to bet $1,000 on Berto to win. I've gone down to $250 since, but that may be because I haven't heard much from either fighter and don't know how training is going or anything. If I knew or heard about both fighters training camp so far, I would be confident in making a riskier bet. I assumed that once the fight was announced, they would have a press conference and then we would hear about each fighters training, sparring sessions, diets, personal life/issues, etc., but we really haven't heard anything, so $250 bet it is.

Like I said before, with the Lemeiux vs GGG fight, Lemeiux and Berto are not Buster Douglas who had physical advantages over Tyson, and Mayweather is not the mentally troubled 24 year old Tyson. Fans, media and fighters alike need to stop using Tyson-Douglas for every single underdog.
