Comments Thread For: Barrera Ready: I'm Better, Smarter Fighter Than Beterbiev

Artur Beterbiev (9-0, 9KOs) may have found his man. The undefeated Russia fighter has been searching for a dancing partner for an ordered IBF light heavyweight eliminator.

After several opponents dropped out or refused to take part, Sullivan Barrera (16-0, 11 KOs) seems to be ready to take on the challenge.

The International Boxing Federation ordered Beterbiev and Barrera to battle each other and they have until August 26th to agree.

With all the hype around Artur, it sounds like Barrera is being fed to the wolves.

Barrera has all to gain and nothing to lose look at his age/opportunities/questionable promoter?. IMO this is a high risk low reward type fight for Beterbiev

So he should fight another low-risk, low-reward fight then?

              Great...

he gets a title shot if he wins so isn't that his reward?

Have they even co-signed the bout?

Barrera is going to get knocked out, makes more sense for Main Events to use Barrera as a Kovalev opponent than a Beterbiev one especially since it's an eliminator for Kovalev's title anyway.

Didn't he turn down a fight with Kovalev?
