  • Comments Thread For: What is the Point of Deontay Wilder-Johann Duhaupas?

Who the hell is Johann Duhaupas?

That’s been the question for a lot of fight fans on this side of the Atlantic this week. The answer? He’s the guy who will challenge Alabama’s Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KO) for Wilder’s WBC Heavyweight belt on September 26th.

Note the word belt. Wilder has one. The Heavyweight Champion of the World is Wladimir Klitschko. Everyone knows it, and that includes Wilder if you caught him in a moment of pure honesty. To be the man, Klitschko is the man Wilder would eventually have to topple.

this is typical pbc bull**** a chance to make easy money by fooling the fans into thinking this a legitimate championship fight.wilder should have fought povetkin right away.I hope this blows up in gaymon's face.

It's another poor fight. But if Povetkin is next, then i think people will not be as harsh as expected on this one.

Awful biased article, Duhaupas is fine for a stay busy fight, he almost beat Erkan Teper and has some good wins, plus never been stopped.

the point is that if the other champions and top fighters in the division have dance partners. then fight anybody for a stay busy. the more you fight the better one gets.

Wilder's had 33 stay busy fights. Most fight fans expect more from a "champion".

I really hope this thread stays open until after the fight for all you wilder haters to feel like fools. Johann will not win one single round. And mark my words deontay will beat povetkin as well. Feel free to pour on all the crap if I'm wrong but just wait and see until I'm right. All you people who doubted him against stervine I never got a reply because you probably felt silly and that same feeling is going to keep on happening. Glass jaw? Your ridiculous. Once he hits the canvas in a pro bout then you can say that. What's that? Oh you say amaeturs you mean the time where he was fighting with what 1-2 years of boxing under his belt. Grow up wilder haters and get on board your just going to keep on getting disappointed. We all know you think povetkin is your savior but pleaSe please save this comment until after the povetkin fight so I can laugh at all of you while no one replies back because you will all feel like fools.

Wilder could easily lose this fight. I don't know why people think this opponent is beneath Wilder. Wilder isn't very good. I'll give any top 10 HW a good shot to beat Wilder.
