Who would win in a fight at 140 of course both in their Primes at 140...who would win?

Cotto's "prime" wasn't at 140. In fact, he had a lot of trouble, due to weight drain, in that division. I believe we never truly saw Cotto's prime. The closest to his prime was the fight at 147 against Margarito. Unfortunately, as we all know, Margarito had loaded hand-wraps for that fight, and the illegal beating Cotto suffered changed his destiny forever. Nevertheless, as boxing fans, we were extremely lucky that Cotto was able to continue his career. An assault such as that one can end not only careers, but lives as well. Cotto, in spite of everything, marched forward, and, incredibly, is now at an all-time career high, as the undisputed, lineal middleweight champion of the world.

That being said, the unbelievable fight Cotto put up in spite of Margarito's wraps leads me to pick him over anyone, from any point in boxing's history, in a prime vs prime fight. What he did that night was something else. Cotto's boxing was beautiful in spite of that tornado of a man and his wraps. I cannot imagine anyone else doing that well against those odds, nor should anyone be forced to prove it. The real hypothetical question I'd like to ponder, however, is where would Cotto be today if that night hadn't happened.

Chavez by KO. Cotto doesn't do well against a high volume, high pressure attacker who can punch fast and hard with both hands. Cotto is a good fighter but Chavez was a great one.
