  • Comments Thread For: Hopkins Wants 'No Excuses' After Golovkin-Lemieux

Bernard Hopkins, a partner in Golden Boy Promotions, wants no excuses in the aftermath of the upcoming unification between WBA, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) and IBF beltholder David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs), which is set for October 17th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Lemieux, who Hopkins' company promotes, is listed as a hefty underdog in the HBO Pay-Per-View match.

It's a long shot, but that would be an awful loss due to Lem not being a future HOFer or anything, and not being a step up. I feel Murray is still the best and toughest, most durable on GGG's res. GGG has to win absolutely, Trinidad was upset by a HOfer/ATG not a C fighter like Lem.

Remember Those Words Bhop; U Have No Choice But To Pump Up Ur Guy

But he will get knocked cold by GGG, then professionally you can declare Golovkin as the baddest man on the planet.

On another note, I don't recall Bhop being an underdog to Trinidad.

Again Bernard manages to turn a question that has nothing to do with him into being all about him lol

I remember George Foreman riding Trinidad's d*ck the whole fight but eventually even he was forced to acknowledge the greatness being displayed by The Executioner that night enroute to the stoppage.

Anything is possible but I think GGG will be able to control Lemieux with the jab and avoid most of the heavy artillery coming at him. I'm more interested to see how well GGG takes Lemieux's power.
