Former champion Bernard Hopkins, who has a partnership stake in Golden Boy Promotions, expects a major middleweight collision to take place in 2016.

In the coming months, Golden Boy's two superstars Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and David Lemieux will find themselves in high profile HBO Pay-Per-View fights.

Canelo will challenge Miguel Cotto for the WBC middleweight title on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. One month prior, on October 17th, will see Golovkin stake his WBA/IBO titles in a unification with IBF beltholder David Lemieux. [Click Here To Read More]

Hopkins calls fights well he's highly intelligent. But even he can't put the odd bit of bias or preference aside.

I think he's got this one exactly the WRONG way round. But we'll soon see.

Hopkins is absolutely right, after Canelo loss to Cotto and Lemieux loss to GGG. Canelo vs Lemieux will happen in 2016. Hopkins is Nostradamus.

even if both fighters lose, its still an easy fight to make since they're both GBP fighters

I can see that happening after Cotto takes another knee and GGG gets sparked out in 2.

Fans should be thankful these are not Haymon-controlled fighters. Otherwise, they'll be lining up inactive, semi-retired opponents, instead of fighting each other.
