The only that thing that resonates about Gennady Golovkin is his cowardice.

He is inspiring a new generations of cowards in this sport.

You can put up the usual smoke screens (no one will fight me, makes no $ sense) but when team ggg was presented the opportunity to prove greatness (Ward fight) thay passed
My mistake, Rubio was WBC interim champ. Geale was a champ though and GGG went through both with ease. And although amatuers aren't the same thing, Golovkin did knock out Bute with head gear and defeat Andy Lee as well as Andre direll. But again amatuers fights and pros are 2 different things. Martin Murry Rubio and Macklin if I'm not mistaken were ranked in the top 10-15
And those aren't smoke screens, that's a legitimate business move. If you can make x amount of money in your current weight class unifying titles or make less and jump up a weight class and take a riskier fight vs reward just to please a few haters do you do it? Is boxing not a business??

I do believe they fight but down the road when both will make exceptionally more money and the public demand will be at a fever pitch.

That's a hypocritical approach to take. GGG could fight his way through his division and, "prove" himself like Ward, although he already has been doing a great job. I'm not sure what you're talking about in regards to, "proving himself". He's already declared the best Middleweight fighter currently in the sport. He's undefeated, and has the highest KO % around, as well as a stellar amateur career. He's a great fighter.

Nobody has claimed he's an all-time great, and nobody claims he's the greatest boxer around. So if Ward gets excused from having to move weight classes, then I don't see why the same logic wouldn't apply to GGG.

Your favorite boxers are Tyson, Mayweather Jr., and Andre Ward.

Tyson (who's a favorite of mine) ducked Foreman completely.

Mayweather Jr. (who I do enjoy watching fight, or at least, the earlier stages of his career): took 5 years for a Pacquiao fight to occur (after Pacquiao had been KO'd), drained Canelo, fought Maidana in a very over sized ring and clinched about 70 times.

Ward: A guy who's cleaned out his division. A guy who's been pro 2 years longer than GGG. A guy who still hasn't moved weight classes. Yeah, pretty much in the same situation as GGG.

Sounds like you're a biased against GGG for some reason.

He should offer to face him in Russia next, like Ggg offered to go up and face Wards best win Froch in the UK. Either that, or fight Periban on an undercard, that's also mouth watering

you have some good points, but ggg is 33. It's way past time for him to fight a A list opponent. Lemew is a step up but not a huge step.

I really want to see a Ward/ggg fight while both are in their primes and close enough in weight that the fight could actually happen. Don't you??

Yes he should. Too bad ggg lacks the testicular fortitude to accept the Ward fight. I wanted to see if gggs tools are actually good enough to beat an upper echelon fighter. Didn't you?

Forget ggg, he don't want none. Bring on Kovalev!

He is right, people like his style, the numbers prove that. NSB is not a good representation of what people generally think about boxers or boxing.

I agree bring him on. Not sure what's the holdup, Wards career has badly stalled and this is an obvious remedy. But hey, Periban on an undercard is just as good
