Canelo would have destroyed a crippled Sergio in 2 rounds

Why would that win for Cotto have an asterisk? Cotto didn't injure his knees or cheat in any way, shape or form that night. Yes theres a very big possibility that Martinez probably would have lost against almost any other elite fighter that night but that is not Cotto's fault. You people in here probably would have loved to have watched GGG slaughter Sergio that night instead of him losing to Cotto. You do realize that a pre-Chavez jr Martinez would have embarrassed and maybe even knock a frustrated GGG out late in a fight. Yet a very healthy Martinez vs prime Cotto would have been a competitive fight. Cotto beat Martinez and now is the new lineal ring and WBC MW champion, live with it.

Or Canelo, but neither did because they weren't sure of how serious the knee injuries were. But Cotto took on the challenge and hit the jackpot and now everyone wants to belittle his historical win over Martinez lying to the public about the seriousness of his injuries. And most around here forget that Martinez was calling all three of these guys looking for that final big payday and Cotto turned out to be the smarter of the three. The only guy calling Martinez out was GGG to his credit but brought no money to the table or Martinez would have fought him because Martinez took on all comers.

both canelo and floyd had contracts with showtime, martinez was with hbo, still canelo wanted to go for martinez but he was like "160 on HBO or no fight"...
you made a good poin on your previous post, martinez pre-chavez would have beaten GGG IMO...

cotto deserves an asterisk because h e ducked golovkin and will continue to do so even if he somehow beats canelo.

We will see after 11/21/2015 if Cotto ducks GGG, hopefully his October PPV does well he becomes a PPV star and that will make the risk/reward factor more appealing to Cotto. As for the aster risk the win over Martinez has absolutely nothing to do with GGG. GGG'S people are already making stipulations based on BS WBC mandatory unenforceable rules that become void during big money fights. IMO they should fight at 160 but not a pound heavier, that means same day weigh in and minimum re-hydrating come fight time.
