Cotto was clearly put on the spot and gave his response about not being a true middleweight. If that's the case, then he should drop the belt now because when the mandatory is fought, he's gonna either have to drop the belt or fight at 160lb.

It's clear he will drop the belt after this fight.

The only reason he is defending it against Canelo is because of the build up and $$$ that comes along with saying it's for the Middleweight title.

He wants no part of the Middleweight Division. And I can't blame him. He did something similar to what Roy Jones did when he beat John Ruiz. Took his one chance to get the belt and capitalized. Cotto beat the guy that beat the guy.

The only reason that he is still holding on to that belt is for this fight with Canelo. It's what the WBC wanted, and thats that. It's all about the cash.

After this fight if Cotto wins he will vacate, and fight for the vacant 154 title is my best guess. Especially when Mayweather drops it.

The only thing remotely close would be Tom Leoffler saying for a Cotto/Canelo WBC mandatory fight, it would be the full 160 pounds. Which is accurate because for mandatory fights, there is no such thing as a "mandatory catch weight". A fighter cannot force a catch weight in a mandatory obligation.
A catch weight can't be forced on any fighter, for any fight.

If Cotto defeats Canelo, and actually decides to take on 3G, 3G will agree to a catch weight. And that shouldn't be a big deal. Hopkins fought DLH at an older age at 157. 3G hardly ever weighs in at 160 he almost always below that weight, if 3G is that good then he should have no problem defeating Cotto at 157, just like Hopkins defeated DLH. And for the record I don't really care if its at the full 160 or a catch weight, its a fight I want to see, and if it takes 3G dropping three pounds to make it happen I'm all for it, and I guarantee you that the majority of fans feel the exact same way.

This bum should shut his mouth. Hes never done anything in his career and neither has his fighter. Feasting on bums is nothing special. They should feel ashamed that a former lightweight is destroying guys left and right and already did more in two fights at mw than GGG entire career.

Cotto hasn't ducked anyone any worse than GGG is ducking Ward.

Funny is how Cotto has done more in 2 fights @ MW..even w/ the catch weights, than Golovkin has done in his entire career in that division!!!! lol!!!

****ing Sanchez, you really talk a lot of ****. Why Golovkin is not talking and you are doing all of it? He really have a hard on for Cotto, always have some bull**** to say about him. Beat Canelo easily? Canelo will be one of the hardest test that he will face, I am rooting for Cotto and I dont even believe that he will win. Why havent you mentioned anything about the current threat that you guys have in October? I will laugh my a*s off if Golovkin gets KOed after all that bullcrap that you are talking.
