Comments Thread For: Huck's Ex-Coach Feels He Crashed Under Mental Pressure

Last Friday night, August the 14th, long-time WBO cruiserweight champion Marco Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) was on the verge of surpassing one of the division’s most prestigious records. However, instead of surpassing Johnny Nelson’s streak of 13 consecutive title defenses, the long-time champion suffered a shocking knockout defeat in eleven rounds to previously undefeated but also untested Polish mandatory contender Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs).

****ing Ulli, as much as i have criticised him and the high guard shell he teaches his fighters, the one time Huck fights without him and the worst happens.

I'd love to see statistics on the number of top ten level guys who've claimed to lose just because the other guy was better. I bet its super low. In their defense I do think you need to be a lil delusional about your skills & unbeatability to get into the top ten to begin with. But you can always throw the disclaimer "he was better than me...tonight" to imply yesterday or tomorrow woulda been different to lessen the blow to your ego & confidence.

Wegner knows this guy better than anyone. To me, Huck looked pretty nervous as well before the fight.

Maybe some of the pressure was fighting outside of Germany, where he's won/gotten draws in a lot of close fights.
