Canelo won't have no bricks in his gloves, plus Canelo doesn't have the stamina nor the chin to keep coming at Cotto while eating a lot of punches in the process and then eventually wear him down and stop him, Canelo has to land big calculated punches on Cotto and wear him down systematically, but Cotto's movement and ring generalship, along with his body punching and Canelo's questionable stamina are gonna be factors in the fight, 50-50 fight, but I don't see it turn into Cotto vs Margarito I at all.
I think if Canelo pressures intelligently, and counters well, Cotto cannot avoid standing in front of Canelo for 12 rounds. Cotto is a great boxer, but he's not Mayweather.Comment

He doesn't have to have the chin, because he has the speed. Also, in order to get to the body, you have to get inside. Canelo's best punch is the uppercut, and Cotto is most susceptible to that shot.

I could see this fight playing out in so many ways...Canelo stoppage early, Cotto stoppage in the middle rounds, Cotto on points, Canelo late...so many variables, so many possibilities.Comment

Canelo's getting beat down here guys. Cotto holds almost all the advantages over Canelo. The only advantage Canelo has is the judges. Cotto will ensure it doesn't go to the cards and will drop and hurt Canelo in route to either Reyenoso throwing in the towel, or the ref stopping the fight. There's also the possibility of Canelo quitting on his stool like his brethren seem to always do when their getting whipped.Comment

Good post. Cotto's vulnerable to the uppercut, and Canelo has a great one. I'll be interested to see how Canelo takes Cotto's punch, though. True, Canelo has fought strong punchers, but has he faced anyone who has Cotto's combination of power and precision? I don't think he has, but I could be wrong.

He needs to use the advantages he has, size, power and speed. He can't let Cotto be comfortable, he needs to intelligently pressure him, and allow him to feel his power.
Cotto is no longer susceptible to the uppercut. He has fixed that balance flaw of leaning forward under Roach, in addition to improved footwork. I hope Canelo thinks like the rest of you, that an uppercut will be there. While he's reaching for that, Cotto will catch him with his money left hook upstairs.

LOL...hint, trolling should be subtle that way more people will buy into it.Comment

I agree 100%, and I think it's why we see this as a 50/50. IMO one of the things Canelo has to learn from the Mayweather fight is, he shouldn't play the waiting game. He was overly cautious with Mayweather, because his team felt they could actually box with him, they were dead wrong.

Well I'm not buying the fight then, you heard it here first guys, Cotto steamrolls Canelo. It's not even a fair fight, and Reynoso throws in the towel.

He beat Delvin Rodriguez, a done Sergio, and a B level fighter in Geale. Again, I think Roach has him confident, and coming forward but Canelo isn't any of those guys.
I see it as a 60/40 for Canelo, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto wins. He's an excellent boxer, a warrior and could hurt Canelo if he catches him no doubt.Comment
