Comments Thread For: Loeffler: Golovkin-Lemieux Winner Will Be Best at 160

From the moment he brought his act stateside, Gennady Golovkin has longed for a title unification fight in the middleweight division.

The unbeaten knockout artist from Kazakhstan first claimed an interim title in 2010 but was granted full title status when it was realized that then-reigning titlist Felix Sturm (and unified titlist Daniel Geale after his Sept. '12 unification win over Sturm) wasn't going to fight him.

Golovkin was the best at 160 before this fight. Lemieux isn't the best and he's nowhere near the best.

I think canelo vs Cotto is going to show the best fighter period

I consider GGG the best at 160 but we won't be certain of that until hopefully the winner of Cotto/Canelo get in the ring with him assuming he gets past Lemieux of course. All I know is that I'm so excited for these big fights to end off 2015. I'm hitting up the GGG/Lemieux fight at the Garden and I'll be sure to order Cotto/Canelo on PPV. I won't be ordering the Mayweather fight this time around though. Probably just hit up a bar with a $10 or $20 cover for that.

            quillen jacobs wont leave pbc
            ggg wont leave hbo
            mutual duck

david can knock ggg clean out..yes he'll be on a high, but quillen and jacobs fight nothing like ggg so lets see ifhe can beat them next...

doubt that happens..and if it does golden boy likely wont go to pbc just bc oscar is mad he turned to drugs...smh

No **** Loeffler. Thats sorta how it works. You are the best & then the guy who beats you is the best. Assume some people would dispute this since Cotto beat Martinez though.

Duhhh of course he is but if he moves up, I would still give Ward the edge.
