    Whats the piont of boxing weight classes?

    Can someone please explain this to me. Im doing a project on boxing.. and this thing is due tommorow. But im doing a power piont and i have listed the weight classes and the weights but now whats the reason why we have weight classes. If someone could reply or hit me up on aim that would be great! thanks

      They exist in order to protect the other fighters from Manny Paquioa...

          Number 1 reason would be SAFETY! plus it levels the playing field. Their use to only be 3 weight classes and then it went to 8 weight classes now we have like 17 weight classes. Little guys are little guys but is it fair to have a guy who weighs 100 pounds against a guy that is 130? same goes for a guy that is 130-160 see the difference in size between these weights????

          Would you say it is fair to have Tito Trinidad face a guy like Marco Antonio Barrera?

              Im telling u if there werent weight divisions and little guys could fight larger guys there would be more deaths in boxing.

                      Alrite thanks guys. Now anyone know where i can get some vids of some knocks outs.. or tyson ripping that guys ear off? Or anything that would be usefull in my project

                                      That's harsh. Watching Barrera outbox Trinidad for 12 rounds would be embarressing. Wasn't the whole Winky saga bad enough?
