EL doble campeón mundial ligero, José Luis Castillo, recibió la noticia de que un posible encuentro contra el boricua Miguel Cotto, campeón mundial superligero de la OMB, y él, ya tiene fecha: el 11 de noviembre. Aunque Castillo tiene que salir vencedor el 3 de junio en Las Vegas ante el norteamericano Diego "Chico" Corrales, ya se hacen planes para que en caso de salir vencedor, tenga en noviembre otra gran pelea, un duelo de campeones del mundo. Castillo iría a ese compromiso investido como titular ligero del CMB, corona que le daría la victoria sobre Corrales. Los planes de la empresa Top Rank son que el duelo Castillo-Cotto se lleve a cabo en Nueva York o Las Vegas. Hay muchas posibilidades de que tal pleito se realizara en la Urbe de Hierro, en el Madison Square Garden, arena que durante décadas fue la catedral mundial del boxeo. De no ser en Nueva York, entonces Castillo y Cotto, un peleador de gran estilo comercial, cambiarían golpes en el estadio Thomas & Mack Center de la ciudad del juego. "Castillo tiene dos grandes peleas consecutivas, dos combates de los que estará pendiente el mundo", comentó el asesor Rafael Soto, quien señaló que Castillo viajará el lunes próximo a su concentración en Lake Tahoe, en donde espera estar entre 6 y 7 semanas adiestrándose para el
