Clinching is a part of the sport, over doing it is bad

Hopkins is one of my favorites, been a fan for the longest and I've literally stopped engaging those who have this misconception that he's always been this spoiler, it annoys me. That said, a lot of Mayweather fans are gonna experience what I've had to endure with Hopkins.

low blowing is part of the sport as well, does that make it legal? no. why are you defending guys who cheat? because they get away with it all the time? oh great reasoning.

you can't excuse cheating now because a guy used to fight legit years ago. that wouldn't work in any other situation. if you got caught cheating in school would you say "yeah but 5 years ago i passed a test without cheating" if you stole money at work would you say "yeah but i didn't use to steal money"

Most bend the rules a bit, that in itself is a skill and I've always advocated for it so long as it isn't excessive. I struggle to give a fuck about your complaints and I don't even know how someone who complains as much even watches the sport.

                  rigondeaux >>>>>>>>>>>>>> floyd mayweather

floyd just tags and runs. nothing great about it. he hits u and then gets out of the way and if u get too close he throws a punch and goes for the head lock.

I think that is a good criteria for what makes a real master boxer, the ability to get out of tight spots without holding or running. Guys who use angles, turning their opponents, masterful defense, and guts to get out of any situation. Holding and running are not masterful skills.

As for Mayweather. The guy has masterful skills, but he cheapens them in the eyes of boxing fans by engaging in a large amount of holding and running. He has the skills to not have to do that, but he does it for safety reasons.

One poster brought up his prime and said he didn't hold in his prime. Floyd didn't start compiling a formidable list of opponents until he was well into his 30's at welterweight, and he was holding and running in that time. His clinching/elbowing and assistance from Cortez in the Hatton fight is undeniable.

master boxing = hit and not get hit

floyd's version of "master boxing" is tag and run, and if a situation gets uncomfortable he headlocks u.
