Comments Thread For: DiBella: Glowacki-Huck The Fight Of They Year So Far

NEWARK, N.J. – Promoter Lou DiBella was beyond thrilled with the dramatic brand of entertainment Krzysztof Glowacki and Marco Huck delivered Friday night.

DiBella called Glowacki-Huck the “Fight of the Year” after Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) overcame a sixth-round knockdown to drop Huck (38-3-1, 26 KOs) twice in the 11th round, score an 11th-round technical knockout and win the WBO cruiserweight title at Prudential Center.

Hard to disagree but competition for the tag hasn't exactly been stellar this year.

I don't know if it's the FOTY but it made up for a crappy main event.

Its definitely in the discussion. There really havent been too many stand out fights from this year.

got my vote for FOTY. i loved lucas vs provo but glowacki vs huck had seasaw shifts and knockdowns on both sides. both men hurt and dropped eachother but only one saw the opporunity to take the initiative and end it knowing he needed to.

there were a lot of lulls, but when your compeittion is the fractured landscape you see now on HBO and showtime, and PBC fights on regular TV, it's not too hard to take fight of the year.

this fight had very exciting moments. it also had lulls. huck does not have a lot of skill. he's a limited guy, the way all of wegner's boxers are. they hardly have any technique at all.

huck's just durable and strong, and knows how to pace himself. wacky doesn't bring a ton, either, but he was resilient, particularly when he got off of the canvas.

This is not FOTY at all but clearly was the only good fight of the night.
PBC is so good to fall to sleep, thanks God there are fighters like Matthysse, GGG, Cotto, Canelo, Chocolatito,Kovalev, etc...., hmm all on HBO.
GGG vs Lemieux with Chocolatito vs Viloria and Cotto vs Canelo will be great PPV cards.
Honestly i have a positive sensation that Brook vs Diego Chaves and Matthysse vs Postol will be terrific fights.

I think Pascal-Gonzalez is FOTY so far, IMO. Last nights fight had that "WOW" factor because of how Glowacki got up and KO'd Huck out of nowhere. But round-to-round, Pascal-Gonzalez was ridiculous.

If that fight had the crowd from last night, I think the atmosphere would of been twice as electric
