Margarito is smoke and mirrors and never was tested and when he did against Santos he got mauled to death. I dont care if that fight was at 154 Margarito is a big man who probably easily walks around above 160.

My top 5 147 goes like this

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Shane Mosley-Are we allowed to count him? If not then it goes to Margarito
3. Zab Judah
4. Arturo Gatti
5. Luis Collazo

I think at this stage Gatti could beat Judah...Judah has just seen better days and doesnt seem to care about his career. Sure he trots along and wins the occassional decent fight but then he blows it against some mediocre fighter...

I agree with everything you typed there, and I think the division itself is really shallow. I suppose you could make the case for Mosley floating in and out of the division, but since he primarily fights at 154 now I'd have to consider him a legitimate junior middleweight.

But honestly....barring Mosley's absence from that list, there is no way you could rank Gatti higher than Margarito. He hasn't done enough at 147 to be ranked anywhere near him, and either way he's a tougher fighter at this point in time.

The Collazo spot is dead on, and nobody should have Baldomir anywhere near their top five, unless they are one of those die hard "beat the man, be the man" enthousiasts, because he did upset the undisputed champ of the division.

I agree with Gatti beating Judah perhaps...because you never know with his punch. Oh and as far as his ranking concerned (Gatti) I'm not a huge proponent of ranking someone only based on their opposition faced at their current weight....it's just that Gatti has 1 fight at 147 and that was against Thomas Dammegard.
