Hello, I am Deacon and new around here. In the Lounge I created a thread with a short introduction, if you feel like reading it ("I think I will like it here").
Today I rewatched some of David Tua's earlier fights, and I have got to say he really was a very good fighter. Not the best boxer but a beast with tremendous power, an inron chin, a style that was just a pleasure to watch, charisma.
Ibeabuchi brawled with him: a close fight, maybe one of the best heavyweight fights in this era. Lewis outboxed him, but I had the feeling that was no prime Tua in there, all he did was basically waiting for his left hook to land.
On the other hand he knocked out quality opposition such as John Ruiz or Oleg Maskaev.
The Tuaman could get outboxed, he could get beat, but he often actually was good and determined enough to win a title. I, personally, like this guy and always enjoyed watching him fight.
