Oscar gave Cotto the casino money to not fight in NY. MSG offered more money than Mandalay to have the fight there. It would have been more money for Canelo too. Instead to have the fight in Vegas, Oscar gave RocNation/Cotto their cut of the Mandalay purse.

Those numbers don't sound right to me (22M/Cotto to 6.5M/Canelo). I believe Oscar is desperate to make this fight, but not desperate enough to give Cotto ALL the casino money. That'd be ******. So 10M/Cotto vs 6.5M/Canelo & splitting the 12M casino money (50/50, 60/40 maybe even 70/30 idk, but no way is it 100/0) sounds about right.

Because cotto wanted the fight in new york where thery were giving 8 million fee for the fight. Oscar made a deal that said cotto took 100% of the fee in vegas if cotto agreed to get the fight in vegas. Basically oscar gave cotto GBP % of the mandalay fee just so canelo didnt have to fight in new york.
