Clean break? Shaw still has rights to Johnson for two more fights (the eliminator and the $title$ fight).....

Shaw is nothing more than a parasite. I hope if Golovkin beats Lemieux, he unifies with Lee/Saunders in the UK and Johnson takes a stay busy with Macklin (watch Shaw try to block that, being the awesome promoter that he is).

Solid signing for GBP, good for Johnson that he has a big Promotion backing him now

Why would Andy Lee (i think he beats Saunders) fight Golovkin when he's promoted by Lou Dibella, was already featured on PBC, and already has a presumptive fight with the Quillin-Jacobs winner, for likely double the money that Golovkin is willing to offer?

All this move proves, if it actually proves to be true, is that Golden Boy is seemingly ready to pay out another massive settlement check, this time to Gary Shaw (the settlement to All Star Boxing, to cover the the theft of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, will likely cost about the money that they picked up from the Haymon settlement). lol

DiBella only has rights to Andy Lee when Lee fights in the US. In the UK, Adam Booth is Lee's acting promoter. Lee/Golovkin in the UK would be on at prime time in Europe so it would generate alot of money due to Sky ppv and other Euro tv deals Golovkin's already tapped into. Additionally HBO would kick in a sizeable amount. Golovkin/Lee would probably even have strong gate in London, Dublin, or Manchester. K2 would be aggressive in securing this fight as they were with Lemieux, in order to tie down that title rather than lose it to Haymon.

Lee's already stated fighting Golovkin next is his current intention after Saunders and we know Alvarez/Cotto winner won't be looking to fight Golovkin right away (January-March).

I don't follow what you're saying about GB? They picked up a fighter in Johnson who may end up being a strong fighter in his own right, or at the very least can serve as a developmental opponent for their other MW's in Alvarez, Lemieux, Quigley, Rosado, and Ogogo. Shaw wasn't doing anything with Johnson, as typical with Shaw he was sitting on his fighter waiting for a revenue opportunity to occur.

Because that fight would most likely be for unifying 3 or maybe all of the titles at middleweight, a historic achievement that most fighters can only dream of.

Fighting against quillin or jacobs on pbc is a minor league fight and you are wrong about the $.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Haymon/DiBella tries to block Golovkin from getting all the belts.

In terms of Tureano Johnson, it was Gary Shaw who pushed the IBF for the mandatory fight, it was Gary Shaw who announced the Johnson-O'Keane fight was in the works, and it was Gary Shaw who confirmed that K2 decided to pick up the fight for their show.

Maybe you don't see it, but that's a lot of work to do for a fighter that you don't have promotional rights to; same type of shiftiness that has Golden Boy on the verge of cutting a sizable check to All Star Boxing.

To the initial point, always thought that Adam Booth operated as Lee's trainer/manager, with Frank Warren wearing the UK promoter hat on Lee's behalf; logical to me, but you acknowledging that would muddle whatever point you're trying to make (you add that K2 just stiffed BoxNation/Warren out of the UK rights to the event, and I doubt that Warren would be all that happy to do K2 the favor).

Sky Sports being exclusive partners with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sport, who have a strengthening relationship with Al Haymon and his PBC effort, likely cuts down that avenue as well.

Andy Lee defending his title against the Quillin-Jacobs winner on PBC (with Sky Sports carrying the broadcast in primetime) is a bigger fight than fighting Golovkin in the UK, on Channel 5, with HBO putting maybe $1m behind broadcasting an afternoon fight. lol

Haymon/Dibella aren't going to let Andy Lee take any fight for short money; say what you want about Quillin-Jacobs being "minor league", Lee picked up $500k to fight Peter Quillin (plus whatever other money he got from Sky Sports) in a co-feature. Quillin-Jacobs is a big fight, and Lee fighting the winner, somewhere on the East Coast, is likely a big enough fight to headline it's own show.

Add up the money from being the champion in a main event, plus his share of the UK TV money, and you're looking at $1m-$2m in total compensation on the fight. Let me know when K2 pays a Golovkin opponent even $1m, lol.

HBO refused to even entertain the idea of bidding on Stevenson-Kovalev; what makes you think they'd pay up for Golovkin-Lee.
