Comments Thread For: Andy Lee-Billy Joe Saunders Pushed Back To October 10

Lou DiBella, promoter of WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee (34-2-2, 24KOs), has confirmed that his boxer's upcoming mandatory defense against Billy Joe Saunders (22-0, 12KOs) has been postponed to October 10th.

The fight was scheduled to go ahead on September 19th at T****nd Park Stadium, in Limerick.

Lee's trainer, Adam Booth, contacted DiBella earlier today and advised him that Lee has been battling the flu and needs some time to fully recover.

        Ticket sales obviously tanked.

Warren seriously overestimated the worth of this fight at the box office.

That's what I'm thinking... the didn't even have an announced undercard other than Katie Taylor, and she's not in it anymore

Plus you always have to think outside the box when an Adam Booth fighter pulls out of a fight

The scales have slightly dipped in Saunders favour.
