Comments Thread For: Povetkin-Wach Tops Loaded 11/4 Bill In Kazan

Opponents were announced for the stellar ledger of the World of Boxing fight card on November 4 in Kazan, Russia.

WBC/TBRB #1 rated heavyweight Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs), a mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight title, will look to stay in a tip-top shape against rock-hard Pole Mariusz Wach (31-1, 17 KOs). Povetkin is coming off the first-round TKO over Mike Perez in the final eliminator this May. WBC #13 Wach’s only loss came against Wladimir Klitschko on a one-sided unanimous decision in November 2012. The Polish fighter is 4-0, 2 KOs, since that loss and an almost two-year long PED-induced layoff after that. He defeated Konstantin Airich and Gbenga Oloukun in 2015. [Click Here To Read More]

Say what you will about Povetkin but this guy will genuinely fight anyone unlike these Haymon guys.

yea really. ballsy move on povetkins part. as limited as wach is he is extremely strong with a granite chin so povetkin will at least have to fight for 12 rounds unlike wilder and his next can of the month

Solid match up for Chakhkiev, good testing fight to found out where he is in the hand scheme of things.

Hoping he can do a number on the guy, should give him a better chance of getting the WBO or IBF mandatory.

Wach is the Wilder of the eastern hemisphere plus a chin. Probably makes Povetkin look bad a couple times with his size but ultimately gets pounded out.

All 3 fights are solid. Nothing world-shattering, but competitive and intriguing. Lebedev needs to look good against Kayode - he looked awful in his last fight.

Wilder can sigh now that Povetkin has an opponent. Now he has an excuse to fight another tomato can.

Nice card. Three very solid match ups. Povetkin fighting a decent opponent who can give him rounds while waiting around for Wilder.

Lebedev and Chakhkiev fights are great, in particular the Chakhkiev-Afolabi fight. That's a pretty risky fight tbh, Ola is a tough SOB and is gonna make Chakhkiev work hard, but he should be able to dispose of him.

Can of the month? Dont you know the Haymon way, its can of the year or can of 6 months, part of the whole duck any challenge model is to actually fight as little as possible to keep the bull**** going for as long as possible

Lot of respect for Povetkin; usually the "stay busy" fight is against a tomato can type of opponent. Wach is no pushover and a tough opponent to 'stay busy' against. Props to Povetty
