As previously reported, a press conference was held to announce the heavyweight battle between Shannon Briggs (58-6) and Mike Marrone (21-4) for September 5th.

The event at the Hard Rock Live in Florida will feature a total of eight heavyweight fights, including a 12-round title fight with two-time world heavyweight Biggs facing Marrone in the main event. Briggs, a former Lineal and WBO world heavyweight champion and current world-record-holder for 38 first-round knockouts, will enter the ring to further his quest to defeat a third world heavyweight champion; Briggs previously defeated world heavyweight champions George Foreman and Siarhei Liakhovich.

Marrone actually was viewed as a diamond in the rough prospect a few years back. Obviously that didn't work out, but even with his hefty build he still two levels better than the cannon fodder opponents Briggs has fought so far in this fraudulent comeback.

What the hell is Briggs trying to accomplish, he isn't even fighting top 100 guys.

Judging by Marrone's beer belly, I doubt he's fit to go 10 rounds.

A never was fighting a tomato can, should be a great fight. Rofl. I'm really surprised Wilder isn't fighting Marrone in September. He like those kind of guys.
