Martin Murray fighting again in Sept!!!

No, that is not a mistake. Murray will be fighting his third fight in THREE MONTHS since moving to 168 on Sept 5th. against an opponent yet to be named. That will give him more fights at SMW in three months than Ward has had in FOUR YEARS. Something is seriously wrong with this picture. The way he is going, Murray may end up fighting for a SMW title before Ward gets his ass back in gear.

Maybe we will have a Ward-Murray fight somewhere down the line? That would be interesting.

Well Murray is fighting Belerusian journeymen or something like that.... nobody really of note.

Also it's good he's staying active.... I think he's more in line at one of Hearns's guys....but now that I think about it, it's not preposterous that Hearn would let him fight Ward as the credible name in November

When you look at his actual opponents it's not that impressive.

I'd expect a fight of Murray's calibre to beat two opponents of that level every month.

Typical Hearn, he'll match Murray with stiffs until he can feed him to DeGale in a PPV and make it sound like Murray earned his shot.

Are his opponents any worse than Paul ****in Smith? I doubt it. The point I am trying to make is that if Murray can find guys to fight, why is Ward sitting on his ass? If he wants to get back in ring shape, he should be doing the same thing. The problem Ward has is justifying his $2 million payday against lower level competition and he will not fight for any less than that.

Most likely.... honestly I'd like it if he fought Rebrasse.... he's put up decent efforts despite losing. It'll show where Murray hangs at SMW

It's a tune up and he'll be fighting for a world title shortly after as far as I'm aware.

Why are you so worried about Ward man?

IMO, if Hearn is offered Ward for him, he might take it and still offer him to Degale afterwards

Because I would like to see a Ward - GGG fight down the line and for that fight to happen, Ward has to get his ass back in the ring so that fans remember who the ****ing guy is. Sitting on the outside shooting off his mouth in YouTube interviews does nothing at all to drive interest in a potential interest. Ward back in the ring, going on a 4, 5 or 6 fight winning streak against medium to decent opposition will go a long way in rebuilding his brand.

As it stands right now, Golovkin may well be the unified, undisputed MW champion before a Ward fight happens and Ward's last fight may still be Paul Smith.
