        it's just not a sports town. the people in Miami only care about the Miami dolphins.

        the marlins won 2 titles in a 7 year span and their stadiums were still empty

            Roy Jones vs Glen Kelly was a packed house at American Airlines Arena. Though not even Roy Jones trainer wanted to be there. He told Roy to knock this guy out now so that they could get to the after party.

                Like several have mentioned, Miami is just a bad sports town in general.

                But, as far as the Cubans go, I don't see them getting behind their fighters in a fanatical way. Also, and I don't even know if this is true, they have a reputation for being very conservative with their money so maybe they aren't even interested in paying expensive tickets for the fights??

                            They are. Fair weather fans. They don't even appreciate the fact the Miami Heat and the Florida Marlins have brought them a combined 5 championships in 30-years. Where as the Cubs are O'for in 100 years yet Wrigley is sold out every night.
