    NOBODY wanted it.

Brook was happy to sit back and rely on his title.

Khan was happy to sit back and rely on his name.

Thurman was happy to sit back and rely on..... well, not sure exactly.

    Nobody wanted it lol.
yeah, thinking about it, i can sort of see it like that.

porter was actually the one who did the most to get the september date with floyd by beating broner.

Thats why I say that Porter deserves it more.

Problem is he lost to Brook, then he fought a guy who is not really a welter.

Nobody put their hand up thats for sure.

The current crop of welters are very disappointing.

Short Port blew it with Kell Brook

Short Port had it all and gave it to the brit. Beating the mini mouthed horse tail hair Thurman would be a nice win for the compact little Short Port. Thurman might have boxing biggest mouth for a little kid who has actually done nothing but self promote himself as a boxing great. Make the fight happen but avoid Haymon who with stench up the fight with his garbage.

Good match up but i think porter is a little too reckless and come forward for thurman. Thurman would be able to time and counter. Good matchup and lots clinches but i see thurman winning a split or even stopping the little big man.

This fight has been a long time coming. The winner should fight Danny.

this is actually my preferred fight for thurman. khan may be a bigger scalp, but the porter clash has been brewing for longer, and porter has the better welterweight resume. they would both pose thurman very different problems though; i'd love if we could get both fights within the next six months. if he passed both of those tests he'd be well and truly arrived

Actually think this would be tough for Thurman. Porter is labeled as reckless, but his pressure would keep Thurman backing up and uncomfortable. Thurman gets uncomfortable with pressure and has shown that he can be hurt. I think if Porter hurt Thurman, he'd be able to capitalize a bit more than Thurman's recent opponents who have hurt him.

I really wish Thurman would get with another outfit, and another trainer. He hasn't progressed any since the Chaves fight. Every other fight since he has looked too vulnerable and fear of his power is gone. I would like to see him with an offensive minded coach like Roach or Sanchez.
