  • For the sake of the sport of boxing: How should the next superstar look like?

Mayweather's retirement is near and Pacquiao's on a clear decline, it's time to find another superstar to replace them. Now instead of naming potential guys who can fill these roles, how about we design one? In order for boxing to thrive again, we need a boxer that will transcend the sport. What that being said, what weight class, ethnicity, promoter, personality, and boxing style should he possess in order to carry the sport of boxing. Of course all opinions are welcomed. I'll start it off.

Weight class: Heavyweight(Heavyweights get more media attention than other weight classes)
Ethnicity: Mexican American (Mexicans will gravitate towards him like they did De La Hoya and he will bring in the American fans as well. He needs to speak Spanish in order for this to work)
Promoter: Golden Boy(He doesn't have a platform of a PBC however Oscar is willing to work with the majority of promoters to set up great fights)
Boxing style: Boxer Puncher with power(It will be a mix style between skill and will. It will please the casuals with his power as well but the purists can appreciate his skills in the ring)
Personality: Laid back and humble(This personality will make him a fan favorite and easy to root for.)

What do you guys think? What is your list?

I don't care what he looks like as long as he fights the best, no cherry picking

A Mexican HW on PBC so the "its free doe" fans who aren't necessarily all boxing fans get a taste & latch on board of boxing & this fighter specifically to bring some new mfers to the sport. Style can be anything from Tyson-like, just destroying mfers left & right or Holyfield-like, in some tough fights & shows a lot of heart. I think the longer PBC is out there, the harder its gonna be for guys with mostly non-free TV connections to build up there guys so its gonna make GBP & TR have less ability to get & grow the up & comers & the PBC platform will be the riper avenue to bring forth the next Tyson, Oscar, Floyd or Manny.

Wrong. Americans like fake dramatic BS. A trash talker will generate that for them.

A Mexican Heavyweight? They already have one, Stoolio Chavez, but he is not humble and only fights smaller guys.
