    Teddy Atlas picks .... Zab

On ESPN (or ESPN2? not sure) the Frankly Speaking show last night had Teddy on and he picked Zab to win by decision. He expects to see Zab using his jab and foot speed to evade PBF. Bert Sugar and the guy that hosts the show both picked PBF. Bert picked a KO in the 9th, and the host picked a decision win for PBF.

I kid you not, they were pimping this fight like it's Ali-Frazier and Hagler-Hearns.

The one part of the show that was a let down was where they talked about what has been wrong with boxing and why we don't get enough megafights and the best are not fighting the best. After blaming the networks and promoters, they failed to note that PBF is a part of the problem. This fight should be his crossover fight into the mainstream and recognition by the casual sports fan, but this could have happened at least 2 years ago.

Unless the best fight the best, they are not advancing the sport. But they gave PBF a free pass. I guess it's not cool to blast a fighter on the show where they are promoting his next fight, but still, they made their point for anyone that can think it through.

EDIT - it was briefly mentioned that the IBF should have vacated the belt after Zab got his ass kicked by Baldomir. They should have taken it to the next level and blasted the corrupt IBF, but again, they were promoting the fight and bit their lip I guess.

I heard him say that last night and hope he is right.I found this to be interesting also.It really appears people forgot how good Judah CAN be when he wants to be.

The boxing media is selling Zab a little short. Zab can be lazy and immature. But when he’s focused and prepared, he’s as dangerous a fighter as anyone out there. By most accounts, Zab trained hard for this fight and knows that a win puts him right back on top. Most people acknowledge that the Zab Judah we saw against Baldomir is not the real Zab Judah. The Brooklyn born welterweight was as good as he’s ever been in his rematch with Cory Spinks. That’s the Zab Judah that I expect Saturday night in Las Vegas. That Zab Judah is stronger than anyone Floyd Mayweather has faced. Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo and Phillip N’Dou (who Floyd apparently ruined) were all strong fighters. But I don’t think they compare to Zab Judah at the higher weight. Zab can also be blazing quick. Not as fast as Mayweather, but faster than anyone Mayweather has faced. It will be interesting to see how Floyd deals with speed. Also, we really don’t know what Pretty Boy’s chin is like because so few have landed a good shot on it. Zab has the kind of power that can change the course of a fight with one punch. (More)

On all accounts Zab could pull off an amazing shock win IF he is at his best, his speed could cause concern for Mayweather. However the favourite for the fight has got to be Floyd he is destroying his opponents eventhough this will be a very very tough fight for mayweather i think he will win by TKO. Zab will have to be at his ultimate best to win but anything can happen i suppose.

I think Teddy has finally lost his marbles there is no way I can see Zab getting to Floyd he has better Handspeed Better Combinations Better Defence the guy is a walking Boxing Machine and takes the sport very seriously not being funning but I think a fit Arturo Gatti or a Diego Corrales both beat Zab hands down so what hope have he got with Mayweather

Exactly right so if he wins he can praise himself. He usually always picks the underdog so it makes him look better. I can remember quite a few times Teddy was wrong. Plus he doesnt want to be the majority and want to stand out...Zab does have a chance but COME THE HELL ON its Floyd Mayweather he is up against!

I also dont think ESPN is to fond at Floyd at the moment anyhow for his arguments with Kenny. So dont think the networks dont put some weight into their analysts pick...Look at Lampley

Comn now his biggest win was over Cory Spinks, and he landed the luckiest big shot of his career to win that one. If you watched the fight Cory grabed him by the neck, but made a vital mistake of letting him pop out, and thats when Judah threw a blind punch.

I like Floyd and all but, I want to see something I've never seen before on Saturday and that is watching PBF in a dog fight. Everytime he's fought it's always been a blow out. Come on Zab give us a great fight!!!
