Should boxing change up its format?

Ive always wondered if it would be better if boxing had a sort of "golden round"

Make it round 6 or whatever, and the round is worth more than the other rounds like for example the winner gets awarded 12 points.

And maybe make it a 2 min round

Would force guys to engage more and we would always see fireworks in that round as guys would have to bring it.

I think penalizing excessive clinching would open things up more.

How about at any time you'll hear someone's theme music blare on and they run near the ring and distract the referee while another croonie slides in a steel chair.

This right here, inside fighting has almost become irrelevant because of excessive clinching, which is sad when you think of how important inside fighting should be.

This sounds like something BKB would consider & I think there was a game show that came out or is coming out that did this with semi-pro UK boxers &/or MMA guys iirc. Seen a trailer for it awhile back.

I'm definitely anti-holding/clinching. I think when a guy is hurt or dropped & does that octopus bs he should be losing a point every time. Thats TOO frequent &/or aggressive of a hold/clinch to allow. Most holding/clinching is fairly casual & meaningless, but when a guy is hurt allowing a guy to hold that aggressively should be penalized 100% of the time. Be a lot of 10-7 rounds for a minute, but there would also be more KO's which is good for boxing & probably good for the fighters cuz I think that KO level impact followed by a recovery period & another KO level impact a round or 5 later is one of the big problems with boxers getting brain injuries.

I'd also like to see what I call the Dempsey rule reinstated. When a guy gets dropped you can be within inches of him to blast his **** again quick like. KD's are already dramatic in fights, but this would take things to a whole other level. And allow for more KOs which imo is always a good thing for bringing in more fans.
