  • Comments Thread For: Cotto's Adviser is Confident Canelo Will Be Finalized

Gaby Penagaricano, the legal adviser to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, is still very confident about reaching a finalized agreement with Golden Boy Promotions for a fall showdown with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The fight is being planned for November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight.

Last week, Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya informed BoxingScene.com that a finalized deal was being held up because the two parties are unable to reach an understanding on the terms of the rematch clause.

Pathetic by Miguel Cotto for holding this up, such petty things that have been brought up ffs let the first fight ****ing happen before you seriously take the rematch even be brought into serious consideration!

It really is small little details, sad that this type of bull**** can hold up one of the biggest fights of the year, I think deep down Cotto knows that Canelo will **** him right up.

At least the tone of his comments i generally positive for once. He's saying that although there are some minor details to be worked out, he doesn't think it's anything significant enough to prevent the fight from happening. You know if there were any reason at all to rain on the parade and be negative, this guy would do it. He and Espinoza are two guys that seem to love disappointing fans.

There has not been so much as ONE mention of the agreement to get GGG to step aside. I would not be surprised if that was one major impediment to this fight being finalized. Not one member of the media has had the brains to ask the question so far and if they are still negotiating with Golovkin and K2 over that, it is certain they would not be bringing it up in the media unless pressed on the matter.

I agree it's silly to bicker over small things like the mat but if one side wants it, then f*** it. They said golden boy is fighting it. Not cotto. Color the ring f***ing purple for all I care. Just stop trying to measure d*cks and do it already.

Looooool. You just had to try to make it about GGG. He's irrelevant here.
