The birth of a contender! Tevin Farmer looks like a young Demarcus Corley with a little Mayweather in him. Solid fighter with 13 wins in a row since the loss to Jose Pedraza.

Perez needs to retire! If you cant beat a fighter with such pathetic technique as that Dmitry guy, get out of the game. I haven't seen bad technique like that Dmitry joke in years.

I think a perfect record is more matchmaking than skill, most of the time, and a few losses are no disgrace. It's just the hard way to go, no protection. Farmer is what I'm talking about, he took some lumps and now he's dishing them out.

I wasn't big on Dmitry either, but he's not as awkward as you're thinking, he actually does correct things. First of all, he fights behind a lot of feints which can make him look awkward, but even more confusing to his opponent, he moves his head before exploding in and then out. He changes levels which is never bad. Sometimes he'll step in with the jab, he'll bend at the waist when throwing his jab, or even shifts his right glove in front of his face when throwing the jab to the body. A number of subtle changes, but he shows a guy a lot of different looks.

However, as the fight progressed he got into more of a firefight and it turned into more of a close quarters contest and he pretty much stopped doing a lot of that ****. That being said, his pressure was steady and good and that's what eventually got him the stoppage victory.

He could improve the technique on his straight right to make it more effective, otherwise he's a solid fighter, and this is coming from somebody who just a few days ago wasn't at all interested in seeing him fight after watching just a few minutes of footage of his.

For those that haven't caught it

He is absolute sht. I look forward to a contender making him look like a ****** and schooling him.

Agree. Mikhaylenko is nothing special. He MIGHT be able to beat some upper-level guys due to being tough and just out "dogging" them in a firefight but he doesn't cut off the ring nearly as well as he would need to against elite guys to make up for his lack of all-around skill.

But more likely than not he's going to start losing as soon as he starts fighting the elite fighters. Like I said, a win or two, I can see. He's tough and relentless, but I don't see him beating any good boxers with elite speed in the division.

Him vs. guys like Garcia, Porter, Rios, Chavez, etc, would be fun and those are the type of fighters he could possibly beat.

maybe, you're being vague tho, Perez was contender status. I can't see guys like Decaire or Gavin embarrassing him. Anyways, I'm not dis*****g he's anything more than welterweight contender status, I just don't think he's "pathetic."

Watched the Farmer fight with slo mo, saw big improvent in conditioning since Pedraza loss, but his technique is still suspect. He has speed and power to pick up the slack, should be able to make it work.
