Inactivity does not always make a guy bad, and being a good opponent doesn't make it a good fight.

The fight will stand on how the fighters actually perform in the ring which unless you have a crystal ball or a Dolorian you don't know. It can be a good fight or it could suck.

The winner could use the fight to spring into bigger and better things. That is usually the sign of a decently meaningful fight.

He's at least on that level. He'll give Broner a tough fight. I hope this isn't for a title if it happens, though. That would be disgraceful.

Yea I like watching fights, forming opinions on them then seeing if they play out how I see them going. I don't complain incessantly about fights that are decent because they are not what I want most. Keep an open mind and the sport is more enjoyable.

With this particular fight I don't think Broner is any sort of sure thing, maybe it turns out that Khabib is broke from the lay off but that just changes the credit I would give Broner, an easy enough fix.

Yeah but I thought you were saying the winner has to fight the mandatory immediately, sometimes sanctioning bodies do that after a vacant title bout.

Conceivably, the winner could fight an Herrera next, then a unification bout and not fight Iman until 2017.

BoxingScene.com has been advised that a deal is close for former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-2, 22KOs) to face former beltholder Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9KOs) for the vacant WBA 'regular' junior welterweight championship on October 3rd either in Las Vegas or Cincinnati. The televised outlet is unknown at the moment.
