That guy is a wacko and knows very little about boxing and his assumption is totally bogus.

I've read and heard of trainers talk abou how they've trained a long distance runner as boxers and they don't have wind for ****. Just talk to Teddy Atlas...... i've heard him talk about this topic along with other trainers. Long distance runners don't know how to relax in teh ring and don't have the same wind they do as too when they are running.

This guy obviously has no clue to what hes talking about. Anybody can train to run a marathon. It takes absolutly no "skill". Alot of stamina and will power? yes, but you can get that with training.

This guy is an idiot. Baseball more physically demanding than football? Thats almost as dumb as the boxing statement.

He tried doing sum backyard boxing with his friends and he sed he had never been so sore. I read the article in your link, and those first two writers were Siamese Twin ******s, (not to offend anyone mentaly challenged), that were seperated at birth, and are finally meeting on the inet for the first time ever. The boxing comment vs. MMA is something where only people who actually participate competitively in a combative sport actuality understand what they are even comparing. First off they have two totally different purposes; MMA is basically trying to "kill" the opponent to save your own life, like in war; and boxing and wrestling are the oldest forms of "competitive sport" in human and even mythological histories, one of the gemini twins actually was a boxer, (for those who really don't know jack **** about anything and then try and rip boxing and wrestling ).

Saying a boxer who fights a long distance runner or whatever, who has trained for only six months at boxing, (are these guys really that ******), would have no chance in beating true contender for a title 99.999999999999% of the time, is a F*&#in' understatement.

And finally the main statement that pissed me off was "Show me a 5'8", 140 lb boxer with more stamina than a long distance runner. You can't. However, I can take a 5'8", 140 lb long distance runner and tweak his strength a tad bit and he will **** up any boxer in his class if the fight goes more than 3 rounds. Bet!" For a boxer at 140 lbs with unbelievable stamina and endurance, (these guys gotta get of their ass and buy a newspaper) I'd say Pretty Boy Floyd at 140lbs was a freak of nature. How amuzing the comment was about a 140 pound fighter and the guy answered none. Bloody idiots...
