I was just thinking there should be some efforts made by journalists and boxing fans alike to dissuade casuals who don't know better from wasting their money and being soured on boxing by this event.

I do appreciate the technical side of boxing, even if it can be dull.

Basically this. Definitely a dog**** fight for the #1 boxer on the planet, but I'm a boxing fan therefore I watch boxing by any means necessary. If you're a boxing fan & not watching the #1 cat in the sport vs a actual corpse, let alone Berto, you ain't really that much of a boxing fan.

I watched RJJ fight mailmen & cops back in the day. I watched Mike Tyson fight every tomato can he could to cash out of the sport during his post prison years. Hell I watched every Butterbean (lol remember when the WBC gave him a 4rd championship belt, yea those guys aren't greedy for sanctioning fees at all lol) & Mia St. John fight everyone was trying to show back in the 90's from from USA Boxing to Top Rank. Mayweather vs Mr. Mayweather Sweepstakes gatekeeper will be no different for me.

I'm going to be watching the fight. Always amazes me that so called boxing fans wax philosophically about not watching fights and if they do choose to watch, will not pay directly for it but will illegally stream it.

Then you guys wonder why you do not get what you want.
