Comments Thread For: Mayweather on Thurman: Good Fight For Him is Spence

While a press conference held Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles to formally announce his September 12 showdown with Andre Berto, there seemed to be greater concern over the fighters Floyd Mayweather isn’t facing.

Amir Khan and Shawn Porter were among the welterweights who were snubbed for the September 12 date at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather insists that the event will be the last fight of his illustrious career, leaving fans to hope that a stronger opponent would have been selected.

So Thurman and Khan have to fight people of Floyds choosing to get a fight?

Even if they were to win, he would make more excuse to avoid them

Keith, forget about floyd. Wait till Spence builds up his name so the fight makes sense. Go after the proven WWs in the division, keep moving forward. Don't take a step back just because this ****** coward fraud who nobody advises you to.

That would be the best win on his Charmin soft resume, that's for sure.

Good post. I've been trying to tell all these people that Berto makes sense to pick over Khan and Thurman because he has all the tools to beat Floyd that they simply do not have.

Floyd is just doing his job as a promoter. He knows Thurman has no business fighting Spence nor does he really want Spence in there with Thurman right now.

There we go with this spence guy who hasn't fight a quality opponent yet...he will fight Sept 11 against another TBA the guy will accept the fight on 3 day notice maybe week before and lose ..Then the floyd fans will give him credit on how talented he is and how they see why thurman won't fight him!!!!

Nah. They're both cherry picking cowards. Lara is the fight but he's too boring to you.
