Yeah man...Some boxing fans in this point of this era, the past few years or so are obsessed with who gets what numbers and who gets what cut of whatever slice of revenue. It is so annoying man, I wish these people cared about the fights rather than ****** factors such as this.

Seems to me it is something that casuals use to debate as they think it is a main point of the game.

I understand sometimes promotional issues can complicate matters with contracts, but fans arguing and trying to prove points by using numbers and percentages is another thing all together. ******.

by paying him 32 million, while also paying his opponent, other expenses including advertising, venue, ect... there is more to this than meets the eye. for them to make 32 million on ppv numbers alone theyd have to clear more than 1 million buys.

they got him for advertising their station, they knew he was going to lose money. did his advertising work? hell no, but they chose to take the risk.

.... Floyd Mayweather has been able to generate 7m PPV buys for Showtime over his 5 fights so far .... from the looks of things, before even considering the take on the international rights sales of the fight/assorted programming, it looks like Showtime is doing just fine.
