There goes that theory that you can't leave Haymon. Sucks for Khan, but at least he isn't being forced to sign contract extension after contract extension. Best of luck to the guy. Hopefully he learns to not speak out so much before anything gets signed.

Cause they damn sure didn't fight him either.

When Williams rematched Quintana, Mosley's career had long hit its peak and was dwindling south, having taken an L to Cotto already. I really don't recall people asking to see that for it to be considered a duck.
And Pacquiao wasn't even a welterweight when Paul was at 147, ya dummy. 2006-2008 were Williams' prominent years at welter and then 2009 he was fighting Winky Wright and Sergio Martinez.
Fact is, Floyd asked his fans who Margarito was and they said they didn't know, and he never asked them about Paul Williams. But let's not pretend Williams and Floyd didn't have the same manager and as if that fight couldn't have been made instantly if Floyd chose to. Unfortunately for Paul he had to move to a different division to get fights.

Margarito went on to get a few wins, Cotto beat Mosley and ultimately it was the easier fight to make for Top Rank - Williams ended up going to middleweight immediately after. It was obviously the preferred choice by TR, altho I thought they were both (Margarito and Williams) legit threats to Cotto anyway.

Since floyd was such a big star and williams frame was eye popping, that alone would sell that fight .imagine the promo. David vs goliath. That would have sold 1.3 mill easy

Ouch that's big loss for Al Haymon. I say good job khan, if you feel shortchanged never hesitate to go for a greener pasture; --because life is too short and a boxer's peak/prime years is even shorter. Seize the day!
