Why is everybody cryin about May/Berto?

Im slightly confused here......Of course i know there are better contenders than berto. But how much better are the other contenders than berto? Sure berto beat Lopez that wasnt a bad win, just not spectacular. But the same can almost be said for everybody else in the 147lb division. We have perhaps the deepest division since 09 and yet nobody can ACTUALLY get that mad at mayweather because we arent even sure how good all these guys actually are. Everyone acts like they're scared to face each other in the hopes that they get the magical lottery ticket. I mean be real, how would the threads on NSB look if it said Mayweather vs Porter....Mayweather vs Khan....Mayweather vs spence jr..... what da hell is bradley doing? who is kell brook waiting for?

Mayweather vs thurman might be the only fight that doesnt get an ass load of hate. Now Let me be clear. I DO NOT CARE MUCH ABOUT THIS FIGHT, but that said it opens the door for these dudes to actually fight each other and stop posturing especially now that garcia has moved up. Mayweather and Pac each fought most if not all their respective contemporaries. Its time for this young bunch to do the same

You have some good points for sure. I think the big thing is that Mayweather goes around parading how he's "TBE" but then picks a sub par, top 20 fighter. It's not what you'd expect from "TBE" nor is he challenging himself to be considered great when he makes moves like this at this stage. There are better choices but I also agree with you that at 147 there aren't really many others. Bradley of course, but we all know the issues there.

Pretty sure Khan, Porter, Thurman, Bradley or Brook would all be much more accepted than Berto.

i understand your point but he just beat what was the hopeful new face of boxing after he leaves in Canelo, and his number one rival for this eras supremecy in Pac. What does beating one of these young guys do for his career at this point? Let them fight each other and him ride off into the sunset. Hell even Ali fought chuck wepner after Foreman....if your asking who that is that is exactly my point

Berto has already lost to 2 of Mayweather's lower-level former opponents - Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero which were fairly easy fights for both of them. Imagine how easy it's going to be for Floyd to beat Berto. Floyd beat Ortiz and Guerrero easy.

Khan has beaten 2 of Mayweather's former opponents arguably better than Mayweather did - Maidana and Judah (and he made Ortiz quit before the 3rd round as an amateur too).
