Comments Thread For: Joshua: Berto is Great Way For Mayweather To End Career

Olympic gold medal winner Anthony Joshua has no issue with Floyd Mayweather's selection of Andre Berto as the opponent for the September 12th Showtime Pay-Per-View from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berto is a huge underdog, with some oddsmakers listing him as a 80-1 underdog. He's 3-3 in his last six fights. He was last in action back in March when he stopped Josesito Lopez in six rounds.

Finally Mayweather vs Berto.. A fight the world has really been waiting for. Can't wait for this one and definitely PPV worthy...

Floyd always picks the best opposition in their prime that's why he is TBE..

      Thank you Floyd

Honestly it's a little worrying when future stars of the support endorse moves like this and see them as the new norm.

'The great thing about Andre Berto is that he's hungry'. This is such an empty, meaningless sentence, come on man.

            Is boxingscene a British site?

It's just a bit strange the things you report on, if it's not reporting every single fart that Amir 'who crowned him king' Khan has... It's this strange article of an opinion from a contender prospect in a totally different weight division.... What about other welters, their shared previous opponents, etc. It's as if you're trying to tarnish Joshuas name because you know most of nsb thinks this fight is garbage, so discredits anyone saying otherwise...

It wouldn't be anything to do with Joshua being under hearn would it? I see how pro Khan this site is (every article starts with 'British star').. If it is, that's low

It's a boxing article on a boxing website. Very strange indeed.

That was the first fight I saw of Floyd's, and he hasn't looked that dominant since. He doesn't have the same physical talent nor the fire/intensity to put a beating on Berto like he did Gatti. This is his cash-out fight, nothing more.
