  • Comments Thread For: Gavin: Brook Would KO Algieri, He'd Beat Khan Too

Frankie Gavin has backed Kell Brook to defeat Amir Khan if their British battle goes ahead next year.

Khan revealed last week that he held talks with Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn about a possible summer showdown at Wembley next year.

Gavin is fully aware of the strengths of both welterweights as he battled Brook for his IBF title in May, suffering a sixth-round stoppage defeat, while he sparred with Khan while they were both star amateurs on the Great Britain team.

algieri is a better opponent than chavez...so lets see it..

algieri could bring the title back home..

i wouldnt advise him to use the style he used vs khan bc brooks wants u coming to him..i'd like to see him be a switch and box from a distance and apply pressure when kell goes off balance or provides an opportunity..

shame he's even ducking chris...lol at least chris didnt need a robbery to get a draw in his last fight

btw cant believe diego chavez isnt a haymon guy yet..especially with him beingon showtime with thurman before

Algieri's sparred with the likes of Maidana and been in the ring with Provodnikov, Brook beats him but I don't see Brook stopping him.

Love how u khantrrds rate Algieri now that hes been in with Khanjob guys not even a welter. As for Chavez, if Khan was to face him he wud be the highest PRESENTLY rated welter khan wouldve faced. You wouldnt have to dig back 10yrs just to justify him as an opponent either as yall do with Collazo and Diaz, both 10 yrs removed as titlists

I'd rather Algieri take on someone not in the top 5 or even 10 of the division. He looks like he has potential and it might be good to see that against someone who isn't an almost sure bet to win. Guys like Guerrero, Bundu, Collazo, Rios, Gavin etc would be a good next opponent before we discuss matching him up with another top opponent.

We'll see more of Algieiri, eventually. He has no promotional restrictions and can fight in any network. Haymon can make any fight whenever he wants to. He made Salka vs Garcia, didn't he? Algieri is no Salka. I see Algieri vs Thurman/Porter/Garcia/Peterson/Alexander....

I'll be following Algieri from this point on.

Algieri would probably go the distance with Brook and give him a very tough night

Algieri is a lot better than Carson Jones and we all saw what happened to Brook in that fight

algieri has TOO much heart. like you said he sruvived against provodnikov, he got up from 6 KDs against pac, and he gave khan hell despite people saying he wouldn't last in that fight.

algieri is a complete warrior rocky story, and it's sad that he doesn't get any respect.
