Olympic super heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin of Russia will face by far his toughest opponent on the undercard of the Wladimir Klitschko-Chris Byrd fight on April 22 in the sold-out SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Povetkin (6-0, 5 KOs) will take on Las Vegas-based Nigerian Friday "The 13th" Ahunanya (20-6, 11 KOs). "I take this challenge very seriously," said Povetkin from his hometown of Tschechow (near Moscow) where he is preparing for the bout with his trainer Valeri Belov. "I think I showed in my last fight against Richard ****o that I have mastered the transition to the pros and I will be someone to be reckoned with in the future." Povetkin believes that boxers from the former Soviet Union will terminate the dominance of the Americans in the heavyweight division, however he is very modest in stating his own professional goals. "As an amateur I reached everything, and naturally I want to have further success," he said. "But I am not the type to start targeting the title after my first few professional fights."

Friday has such a cool name and nickname, that it's hard to not pull for him in a fight.
Lets be honest. If a guy by the name of Friday "The 13th" Ahunanya was the heavyweight champion of the world, more people would watch boxing.
That's a damn fact.
