For some reason many people think that the only way to be a defensive fighter is either to be like Mayweather and run and duck all night, or be like Ward and clinch, grab and butt all night. They do not seem to understand that you can be a great defensive fighter and still have an incredibly offensive style. They have had their eyes closed and just cannot seem to get them open again. The Mayweather generation of fans really knows very little about the sport as they have only been exposed to a few years of boring fights.

People have to educate themselves on how to properly watch a boxing match. Go back and watch as many of the great fights of the past as possible. And try to watch them with eyes wide open.

He hasn't fought a lot of elite guys nor top ten guys

If he beats David impressively, its his best win

Took him damn near 40 fights to beat a reigning title holder if he does

Inform me of all the great comp he has beat? I think Proska, Murray, geale, Stevens n macklin were top 10-15 guys but no world beaters, reigning champions or hall of famers....Am I wrong?

But I agree I expect an early KO.

It's not a bad fight by any stretch but I wouldn't pay for it myself. But it's a no brainer making it PPV and striking while the iron is hot.

Golovkin-Canelo next year (if both win) will do good numbers.
Geale was a former unified titlist. Murray arguably could have been lineal champ at one point. Macklin was probably as good as those two. Lemieux is no better than them, I don't think. Maybe more dangerous to Golovkin but not better.

This is the first time that Golovkin has had to deal with so much media attention and various interviews leading up to a fight. He really has little interest in such things, he is not an entertainer, he is not a 'dancer'.

GGG just wants to get to the ring and do his talking there. All the rest of this crap probably bores the hell out of him and he will be glad when the final press conference is over and done with.

I have to say that I agree with him as well. I have yet to watch so much as one minute of the pre-fight hype fest. It just does not interest me. I can't wait for Saturday night, that is the only thing that matters.

I will however watch the post fight interviews and press conference. Any bets on how dark Lemieux's glasses will be?

                  'It is very interest".

Maybe the dullest promo ive ever seen. Not even the scary music and all the chairs being backwards could inject any life into it.

But it doesnt need promoting for us.

Hmmm...beware the confident fighters. the first step in winning ...is believing in yourself. I can't wait for this fight! I pick GGG by tko in a hard fought 5th rd stoppage. What's more fascinating is that Lemuix has the one shot power to change the course of the fight, in other words he will test GGG's chin.

Golovkin never cease to amplify the quality of David since the beginning:
"Hardest puncher in the MW Division"
                      "Very dangerous fighter"
                      "I'm a little scared"
                      ... It's a game I know...

But I'm starting to believe that he's actually more worried than he's ever been... And that's not a good sign...

The HBO Face Off shows a contender trying to get in the Champion's brain, and a Champion never meeting the eyes of the contender... Interesting...
