MONTRÉAL - Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM), in association with InterBox, recently announced the return to the ring of former IBF world super middleweight champion Lucian Bute, August 15 at Bell Centre, as part of Premier Boxing Champions series, airing live on NBC Sports. His opponent will be European super middleweight champion, Andrea Di Luisa, of Italy.

"I'm ready and looking forward to being back in the ring. I have not lost my passion and I train six days a week, twice a day," said Bute (31-2, 24 KOs), who will be in his first fight since meeting Jean Pascal in front of a sellout crowd, January 18, 2014 at Bell Centre.

He's been terrified to throw punches for the last two fights..all up until the 12th round of Pascal where he seemed to remember what he is supposed to do. Hopefully something clicked in his head and it carries over Really that was the only silver lining to take from that fight. he has to let his hands go, period

Well hey, I wish him the best. I found his style very entertaining to watch until he started fighting scrubs like Brinkley, Magee and Mendy. Total of waste of time that was. He had a beatdown coming after that, and a good thing Froch gave it to him. Too bad he got trounced by Grachev and Pascal after that, but I hope he's still got some exciting fights left in him.

... but chances are he'll soon be fed to Stevenson and/or Kovalev.

As for the 'scrubs' fights, no excuses, but the inventory was emptied of tough challengers because of the Super 6... but yeah, he really has to let his hands go. No time like the present. When he's firing on all 8 he is fun to watch.
