According to Boxrec the fight is on, and I was sure it would be Briggs. Anyway you want to look at it this is an absolutely pathetic fight. With that said Wilder should be ashamed to call himself a champion.

Hughie Fury lmao what the ****? How random is that.

I bet it's on a PBC broadcast and after announcing Wilder as the "heavyweight champion of the world" (no mention of klitschko) they act like Hughie Fury is "The" Fury.

It will be a literal parody of the actual HW title fight between Wlad and Tyson. An offbrand version featuring the vacated WBC belt vs the actual challengers illness prone little brother.

Tarver Briggs and Arreola turn you down I guess the list starts to look pretty funny

      TY Al Haymon

If this is true, then it's official--Deontay Wilder is a JOKE. From getting rocked the last fight by a guy that shouldn't have stood a chance to trying to goad a fight with a kid who has 15 or 16 fights?! This is our WBC champ?!?! Bottom line is if it's a business and if Deontay is confident in his abilities like he claims he is, then he'd make much more fighting Povetkin and then big names after that. When he said he would layeth the smacketh down on anyone in the heavyweight division, I didn't know he literally meant ANYONE. You don't even need a great ranking! Way to rep the USA! That's not embarrassing for us at all!

The WBC has Hughie ranked at 33. So, how the hell are they pulling this sham fight off?

What? Who? I want Wilder to fight someone in the top 50 at least.

Chaves is ranked 8th by Ring, but even if he was say 15th or whatever, it'd still be about 30 odd places above where Hughie is ranked at Heavyweight and still doesn't explain your ridiculous double standards when it comes to Haymon fighters.

Povetkin is anything but a bum fighter, he is a very good boxer.
Whether its fair or not i see many calling him a bum, that's just the nature of alot of fans, especially since that would be his first legit opponent, besides a sick Stiverne.

I'm going to do some research to see if the same people saying that Hughie doesn't deserve this fight yet are the same ones claiming that Keith Thurman is ducking Errol Spence. I totally agree that Hughie doesn't deserve the fight, but lets be consistent here. Anyways, Wilder is wack if he offered this to a green 20 year old kid, i would much rather have seen him fight Briggs than this. Or maybe i would have been more interested if Hughies was actually young enough to take Mike Tyson's youngest heavyweight champ record away, but he will be 21 by the time of this fight or a few days from his 21st birthday. Either way i would be rooting for Hughie if it happens, but Al Haymon sucks at overprotecting his fights. Wilder is 30 and should have stepped up the competition already.

Obviously this fight is not happening but even if it does, I wouldn't be surprised if Hughie won. He's infinitely more talented than Wilder - but he's still a baby and that full strength might be the difference for Wilder.

This is a better fight than people think.

Hughie Fury's goal is to become the youngest HW champ ever, right?

Now he has that opportunity. That means war will break out in the ring.

Deontay's goal is to take out the younger Fury to start a beef with Tyson Fury, creating a massive PPV event next year.
