You think I'm a fan of Hughie Fury? Lol...I just think it's disgraceful that Wilder, a reigning world champion with 30 plus fights is trying to pick on some 20 year old unproven prospect.

You have a problem with Brook fighting Chaves - a top 10 ranked welterweight but Wilder is OK to fight a kid who probably isn't ranked in the top 50 yet

...or that desperate. I wonder who's gonna jump at the opportunity, i'm sure they'll find someone. The issue is that it probably won't be someone that good because few are going to accept with only a month to prepare.

What does his age have to do with it? Plenty of champs thru boxing history have won at 19, 20, 21 years old. Wilder wasnt some amateur boxing prodigy. Also Wilder isn't Wladimir Klitschko. He's not some dominant, decades long champion. He's got an alphabet belt to go with a lot of flaws.

If Wilder squashes him, then great. I'd love to see Wilder make one of the Fury's do the sprinkler a la Liakhovich.

They suck at math. Thats 7 weeks+ right now. I don't think this is a great time for this fight for Hughie, but I can understand it from Wilder pov 1)its a fight he'd be heavily favored in & 2)it helps create some friction with Tyson & maybe helps build up that fight in the future.

Honestly I got sorta a old school outlook in most cases with title shots. If offered you take it. If a guy has big upside I could see waiting, like if the #1 guy at 130 had offered De La Hoya a fight after 8 fights or some such ****, but in this case idk that Hughie has THAT big of an upside & this would be a no lose situation & a nice payday.

YES if the Americans are trying to get a relative 20 year old novice on 4 weeks notice this is not a good sign of their confidence in Wilder there are many more proven names out there and lets hope even then they offer more than 4 weeks notice...........pathetic if true !

The Fury family could have a chance to reign the division like the Klitschkos...

Wilder was a bronze medallist at the Olympics. He's almost 30 years old with 34 professional fights, They've babied him through the pros enough, now they want him to fight babies lol

Damn, Wilder turns 30 in October. Time flies. Seems like just yesterday he was windmilling clubfighters in gymnasiums across America.
