Comments Thread For: Luke Campbell Not Rushing Title Shot, Back on 10/24

LUKE CAMPBELL is in no rush to gamble on a world title shot just yet.

After all, he is still getting asked for his ID before buying a Lottery ticket in his hometown of Hull.

The fresh-faced lightweight may be 27, but he is in not ready to roll the dice against one of the division's world champions despite his stunning 10th-round stoppage of local rival Tommy Coyle on Saturday.

at 130-135 i'd advise him to strike while the iron is hot in the right directions...

its a few guys too seasoned at this point to risk it, bc luke is academic as they come..if u see anything other than the basics from him you have a different boxing eye than me...it upset me that coyle was never forced to take 5 consecutive steps back all night and luke was the physically stronger man..i get it coyle is weak to the body let him rush in, but that was his plan to win..if u take his gameplan away from him u get him out of there early instead of just showing a jab, straigh, and hook backfoot game...ask thurman how easily guys like even collazo can adjust to that at the top level and hurt you..god forbid tommy was taller coming in with a blinding jab i think luke would have no answer..and good look winnin on points not forcing the action when the next guy is...kevin mitchell might just teach luke a level..linares with looping rights would be problematic...STAY AWAY FROM RANCES AND FORTUNA..GAMBOA would likely outbox him a few round and possibly give way to a brawl leave teh end of the fight up to luke

Hes 27 now. Its crazy to think he won his gold @ Bantamweight.

Hypothetically, if it happened a little earlier for him, he could be a 4 weight world champion now. Hes got the frame to go as high as Welterweight.

Might be a bit too short notice to get it sorted in time but if it doesn't happen in Sheffield on the Brook card Luke Campbell will be in with Ricky Burns in his next fight after that. Rely on it. An action clash and a real solid test.

Of course he should fight for a title next. British champion Scott Cardle or Commonwealth kingpin Richard Commey would both test him to the limit!
