  • Comments Thread For: Luke Campbell Drops Coyle Four Times, TKO in Ten

Craven Park Stadium, Hull, Yorkshire - A battle of hometown lightweight rivals saw, rising star Luke Campbell (12-0, 10KOs) punish the body of former friend Tommy Coyle (21-3, 10KOs), dropping him four times for a TKO win in ten. Campbell picks up the WBC International world title.

Campbell was outboxing him in the first, and started the heavy damage when he scored a knockdown with hard body shot in the second round. Coyle recovered and made it to the end of the round. The third started with Campbell getting him into trouble once again. Coyle was staying very close to Campbell because he took damage every time there was distance.

Campbell looked good. Gotta say though that on a world level Coyle is a limited fighter and if that was Campbell's toughest test to date then he needs to be stepped up gradually. I like that Campbell can fight well off the back foot but that might not work so well against a better quality pressure fighter than Coyle.

Luke is like the poor mans Lomachenko.....sort of the British Lomachenko. Nice skills but will he be able to circle and use the ring against a world class pressure fighter. Remains to be seen. Really good personality and character.

Campbell is really accurate but his jab is flicking, doesn't really put anything into it. I'd like to see that improve, wasn't discouraging Coyle from getting forward, those body shots and left hands were though!

Good fight!! Like Campbell he has some good skills. Would of liked him to throw more upper cuts Coyle was ripe for them all night. Also needs some inside skills but he has time to develop those. He should go Commonwealth, British, Euro and then onto a world title shot.

campbells arms looked much skinnier than before, i guess he cycled off the juice and excreted it in time.....lols. He was just too big, however crawford would beat him in every area.......linares though he would beat linares.

Gutsy performance from Coyle, but you expect that from him.

                  Campbell looked good once again.

I've said from day one that Luke Campbell MBE will have the game wrapped up by the age of 30. Great to see him drop the associate, that friendship was only holding him back.
