Cast Iron is a ridiculous assessment.

The controversy stems from him supposedly using more than the allowed amount of gauze in wrapping his hands, subsequently leading to a gloved fist with ten times the added mass of one that is not wrapped accordingly.

You can wrap your hands with gauze untill they turn into sledgehammers. And that's what many people believe Tito did.

Gloves are meant to pad your punches, ten times harder would probaly be noticeable. Doesnt boxing have a system in place for this? Did a ref ever cnotice the difference?

Funny....because the Trinidad camp did not allow the ref to check his gloves, and they immediately kicked Bouie out of the dressing room after he made those statements. That has been documented in the past.

And I'm talking about the gauze. When wrapped over and over, it adds extra mass underneath the glove.

If Trinidad was able to get into the ring using 10x harder gloves, than blame the boxing organization. Cause this infact is probaly normal in boxing, both Jones and Toney were on steroids, got away with it. Sugar Ray KO'ing Basora 4 times in 55 secounds, very questionable, seeing how he was never the same after that.

Toney was caught red handed by testing positive for Nandrolone...which is an anabolic steroid. He was busted.

I never head of Jones testing positive for steroids, and that was pure speculation.

If you noticed I did not enter the thread with the intention of calling Tito a cheater, I was merely pointing out facts.

Facts being multiple figures claimed he illegally wrapped his hands.

And I think much more should be done to prevent fighters from carrying out illegal tactics in the ring.

From what I heard he would use extra thick tape and he would keep dipping his taped hands in and out of ice cold water to make the tape harder. Even if it were true, would that really make the tape harder?

I dont know, but who knows about many fighters get away with this if its true. Any fighter can be suspect, if dipping tape into cold water can KO a guy in the 1st round.
